Chairman DDMA Kargil orders imposition of restrictions on Sundays - Press Release

KARGIL JULY 25, 2020: As a part of the COVID-19 mitigation measures, Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and District Magistrate (DM) Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today issued an order regarding imposition of restrictions on Sundays. 

The order reads, “In continuation to this office Order No:-Estt-I/COVID-19/2020 dated: 30.06.2020 and followed by order No: even dated: 14.07.2020, and in exercise of power conferred upon me under Section-34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Section-144 of CrPC, 1973, I, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, IAS, Chairman, DDMA/District Magistrate, Kargil hereby order following restrictions on every Sunday w.e.f 26th July, 2020 till further order: - 

1.Movement of Private/Commercial taxis shall not be permitted except for medical emergencies & official duties as listed below: -
I. Government vehicles for official duties.
II. Officers/staff of essential services viz. Health department, Municipal Committee, PHE, PDD, PWD etc. (On production of valid Identify Cards issued by competent authority).
III. Load Carriers (Trucks, Oil Tankers, Mini-Trucks, Tata-Mobiles) arriving Kargil via J&K (On production of relevant papers).
IV. Vehicles carrying construction materials for Govt. works (On production of relevant papers).

2. All Shops/Restaurants/Dhabas/Barber Shops etc shall not be permitted to operate except for essential services as listed below:-
I. Fruits and Vegetable Shops
II.Milk and Milk Products
III. General Stores and Grocery Shops
IV. Chemist Shops and Medical stores etc.

However, all precautionary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 shall be followed strictly as per the SOPs/Guidelines issued by MHA/MoHFW/UT Administration of Ladakh from time to time. 

Violation of above provisions as well as regulations/SOPs “shall be deemed to have committed an offence under section 188 of IPC and DM Act 2005 hence penal action under rule shall be initiated against the violator(s)”.
