Rajnath Singh Spoke to Israeli Defense Minister Discussed Issues Related To Border Dispute With China

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke on the telephone with his Israeli counterpart Lt Gen Benjamin Gantz on Friday. During this time, the issue of India's border dispute with China in East Ladakh (India's standoff with China in Ladakh) was also discussed. Government sources told about this. He said that the main thrust of the talks was to speed up the current defense procurement program and further strengthen the defense and security relations between the two countries. Sources said that the issue of border dispute between India and China also came up in the talks between the two defense ministers.

He said that during the talks, there was also a discussion on accelerating the process of purchase of various weapons and equipment by Israel from India. Sources said that Singh apprised Gantz about the major reforms initiated by India in the defense manufacturing sector and called for a wider partnership with Indian companies in the development of weapons and military equipment. India is Israel's largest buyer of military goods and Israel has been providing weapons systems, missiles and unmanned aircraft (UAVs) for the last few years, but this transaction has largely taken place behind the scenes. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that Singh and Gantz expressed satisfaction at the progress of strategic cooperation between the two countries and discussed the possibility of further strengthening the defense partnership.

He also expressed satisfaction with the current synergy between research and research in dealing with the Covid-19 epidemic, the statement said. This will help not only the two countries but also the wider humanity, ”the Ministry said, adding that Rajnat Singh also called for extensive participation of Israel defense companies under the liberalized Foreign Direct Investment system in defense manufacturing. 

The two ministers also shared views on the regional developments, the Israeli Defense Minister also agreed to Rajnat Singh& invitation to visit India soon.
