Chairman LAHDC, Leh Greets People On Independence Day Eve

Leh, 14 August: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor,  LAHDC Leh Sh Gyal P Wangyal, on the eve of   74th 'Independence Day' extended his warm greetings and good wishes to the people of nation  on the joyous occasion of  Independence Day.

Independence Day is a moment to remember the freedom fighters who gave supreme sacrifices to free our country. Said Wangyal and stressed that this occasion is a day to take commitment to serve our motherland and contribute our part of duty and responsibility for the development and progress of the nation.

CEC conveyed his heartiest greetings and congratulations to the brave Indian soldiers including Ladakh Scouts and
 paramilitary forces deployed at China and Pakistan borders, newly formed Ladakh Police and Ladakhi students studying across country and abroad.

Wagyal said that this Independence Day will be special for UT Ladakh, the newest and the youngest Union Territory of Indian union,  as the event becomes all the more memorable for every Ladakhi to celebrate Independence day for the first time after Ladakh becoming 8th  Union Territory of Indian Union. It marks a new beginning for every Ladakhi and it is a date with history that we are looking forward with anticipation. Added Wangyal.

Let us resolve this Independence Day to strive towards building a New Ladakh realizing the dreams of the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinochey and others by achieving their cherished goals of prosperity, equality and dignity for every citizen of Ladakh. Appealed Wangyal.
