MP Ladakh, CEC Gyalson and Leh BJP delegation meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi

Leh, 11 Nov:- The newly elected Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Advocate Tashi Gyalson, Dy. Chairman and Executive Councillors of LAHDC, Leh headed by MP Ladakh /State President BJP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal along with  BJP Counicllors and Leh BJP members  met with Defence Minister  Rajnath Singh at New Delhi today.
It is the first visit of Delhi by the members of 6th LAHDC,  Leh after  retaining power in LAHDC, Leh election recently by  securing absolute majority in 26 member LAHDC, Leh election held in the month of October.
The delegation headed by MP JTN discussed various border issues and demands of Ladakh in general and Leh district in particular with  Defence Minister  Rajnath Singh including erection of Bunkar for civilian living along border to protect their lives during emergency, extension of Northern Grid to Changthang region ( and approved the DPR submitted by ITBP to get access of Northern Grid to Changthang region),  USOF tower at Border villages and other villages which doesn't have communication, permission and NOC from MOD to operate Demchok JIO Tower already installed, permission for tourist to visit Siachen base and Implementation of earlier orders, BSNL tower under army control to make available for civilian living along border and operate by control signal radius, better facilities like. Health, Clothing and Wages for labours deployed  at Siachen,  release of 23 Kanal of  land under army control to make UDAN scheme to be implemented at Thoise Nubra, easing out of restriction along China border for native locals to take their livestock for grazing to pasture land along border, increase in the tonnage volume on army Planes during winter month to provide vegetables and other essential items in order to provide better and nutritious food to people especially during ongoing  COVID pandemic, relaxation and increase in VINTAGE value of Truck, Buses and Taxis from current vintage restriction, Operation Sadbhavna to scale up in Ladakh, especially in Leh district.

The delegation strongly demanded to give preference to locals in Army in Ladakh, regularization of local porter with better wages round the year and preference to local labours during winter months as local labours were disengaged during winter months by contractors.
The delegation also strongly stressed on early completion of Nimoo-Padum- Darcha road keeping in mind the strategic importance of this road for Ladakh and blacktopping of Wanla -Lingshed to Padum road at the earliest as this road has emerged as an alternative road during winter for Army and locals.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured the delegation for addressing all the demands and issues priority wise in coming months and years.
